APSF Background

APSF is the governing body of the Paralympic Movement in South East Asia. Founded in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia in 2000 and helmed by Dato Zainal Abu Zarin as president since 2001, Thailand’s Maj.Gen. Osoth Bhavilai took over as APSF President since 2015. APSF is committed to enabling athletes with a disability in the region to achieve sporting excellence.

APSF OBJECTIVES

• To promote the practice of sports for persons with a disability without any discrimination.

• To promote educational programmes, research and development and promotional activities in     the discipline of sports and fitness.

• To enhance ASEAN solidarity and brotherhood through sports for persons with disability.

• To organise the Games of the Federation in the same year as the biennial South East Asian
  (SEA) Games.

• To organise other events and activities related to technical development, leadership
  development, planning and sports science.

• To acquire information technology for further strengthen the aims and objectives of the
  Federation.
