SOLO, INDONESIA — The 3rd Coordination Committee meeting concludes here with ASEAN Para Sports Federation (APSF) and the Indonesia ASEAN Para Games Organising Committee (INASPOC) pledging to step up efforts to ensure the smooth organisation of the 11th ASEAN Para Games Solo 2022 this month.

Another milestone was etched as both APSF and INASPOC officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) laying out responsibilities and commitment by both parties to ensure the successful organisation of the Games.
APSF President Major General Osoth Bhavilai signed on behalf of the governing body while INASPOC Chairman Gibran Rakabumi Raka inked the deal on behalf of Host City Solo.

The Chefs de Mission Seminar also concluded successfully with contingent leaders and key officials from participating countries taking the opportunities to check on the competition venues around Solo.

APSF President Maj General Osoth Bhavilai expressed satisfaction over Solo’s readiness preparation for the Games, saying that athletes are itching for action in the region’s biggest multi-sports Para sporting extravaganza after missing out on the Games for four years.

Gibran, who is also the Mayor of Solo, meanwhile said that Solo is ready to receive the huge number of participants and guests, adding that all the necessary arrangements such as venues, accommodation, transportation and health protocols are in place.

The 11th ASEAN Para Games Solo Games 2022 is scheduled from 30 July to 6 August in Solo and three other districts, namely, Karaganyar, Sukoharjo and Semarang. A total of 14 sports and more than 500 events have been lined up for the Games.

The Solo Games 2022 will be the first held since the 2017 Games in Kuala Lumpur. The previous two host cities – Manila 2019 and Hanoi 2021 – withdrew their hosting job following the Covid-19 pandemic.
